The Padre Hotel
Bakersfield, CA

Scope of work: Gold Coast Design was responsible for a major interior renovation of the historic 8-story Padre Hotel originally built in 1929. We demoed and rebuilt the entire building interior, leaving only the exterior shell. We replaced all MEP systems, interior walls and finishes to create a boutique hotel with 112 guestrooms, a fine dining restaurant, cafe, nightclub, three full bars, two full kitchens and five conference rooms. Scope included structural upgrades necessary to convert a rooftop into a public space. The Padre Hotel was awarded the “Boutique Hotel of the Year” award and has received numerous acclaims for design and innovation.
The project was collaborated with Brett Miller and acclaimed architect/designer Graham Downes for whom we terribly miss after his untimely passing.
Tower 23

Scope of work: Under the watch supervision of Dave Gash, Gold Coast Design provided owner representation services for owner Brett Miller from Eat, Drink and Sleep with building contractor Swinerton Builders. Gold Coast provided customized specialty finishes throughout the property and worked closely with ownership through the development process.
Spreckels Theatre
San Diego, CA

Scope of work: This historic venue was built in 1912 and since then has been host to a variety of shows including plays, musicals, comedy shows and concerts. The Spreckles Theatre has been a vaudeville house, a movie palace, and now a theater. This architectural masterpiece is considered as one of the finest theaters in the country.
Gold Coast provided the majority of renovation including murals, detailed finishes painting and project supervision.
San Diego Sports Arena

Scope of work: Renovate all main entries into arena, concourse, public restrooms and remodel main bar into a modern, members only nightclub.
Hospitality Contracting Services
The Gold Coast team has renovated hundreds of hotel rooms and public spaces at world renown sites including the Hotel del Coronado. We are accustomed to developing coastal properties and are experienced in the complex entitlement process. Gold Coast can oversee FF&E specification and the purchasing process for ownership. We understand the need to stay out of sight from guests and we make sure our team upholds our high standards of professional courtesy and are easily identifiable.
Healthcare Contracting Services
Gold Coast Design has renovated numerous healthcare and extended care facilities throughout the U.S. We understand how to respect the privacy of patients and not interrupt the critically important work of staff. Our renovation work includes patient rooms, staff and meeting spaces, rehabilitation areas, public spaces, dining facilities, bathrooms and more. Like hospitality, we can provide construction stewardship to ownership or be engaged in the entire Design/Build process.
Restaurant Services
At Gold Coast Design, we have extensive experience in restaurant services and construction. Gold Coast understands the entire process and we know the nuances of restaurants—both inside and outside the building. We manage all aspects of design and construction, be it a major kitchen makeover or in the creation of a sophisticated entry or an entire building renovation. We are comfortable with standard build outs as well as high-finish specifications.
